How to Use TikTok for Business
Whoever thinks that TikTok is only for dance videos, practical jokes and impersonations could not be further from the truth. Sure, all those are fun to watch and it may have started out that way, but this video sharing social networking service has become the new powerhouse for creating content. Point Taken explains how to use TikTok for business.
We have all seen the success of posting and advertising on social media platforms, with Facebook leading the way. Well now is the time to be thinking about TikTok. Wallaroo tells us TikTok is available in over 150 countries, has over 1 billion users and users have downloaded the app over 175 million times in the United States alone. If your brand’s target audience includes anyone between the age 13 and 40, you should be on TikTok right now. Not only should you be running ads on, you should be creating content.
According to Digiday, TikTok is more of a video destination than a social network. Digiday says advertisers are treating its ads following this thought process. Many advertisers Many advertisers report they see TikTok as a method to reach younger audiences. Many of those younger audiences have turned away from television, some social media outlets, leaving Tik Tok as an opportune way to reach them.
Here is a breakdown of the percentage of U.S.-based TikTok users by age: 10-19 – 32.5%, 20-29 – 29.5%, 30-39 – 16.4%, 40-49 – 13.9%, 50+ – 7.1%. This means that TikTok is growing and gaining older users. Users spend an average of 52 minutes per day in the platform, and open the app 8 times a day.
The biggest draw is that TikTok engagement is incredible. Here is a great example of TikTok versus Twitter: Jennifer Lopez recently posted the same video on both platforms. She has 45 million followers on Twitter and 5 million followers on TikTok. The video on Twitter got 2 million views. The video on TikTok got 71 million views.
Could it be that the current shutdown has left us craving for more outlets of entertainment? There is no doubt. So take advantage of this time and get creative by joining in on the fun of TikTok to expand your business.
